OVERVIEW: The BFF-LTE basket strainer is an FRP fiberglass design with a 304 stainless steel screen for commercial aquatic applications, including water parks, zoos, aquariums, fountains, and commercial swimming pools. They are all provided with 150# PVC floating flanged ends and with neoprene lid gaskets designed for quick removal. The BFF-LTE50 is rated for suction service only, and suited for hair and lint straining with a clear acrylic top.
The top quality dual laminate construction offers the corrosion resistance and the strength to weight ratio of fiberglass. Large open are: pipe diameter ratios create minimum pressure drop in the lines.
Utilizing full flow ports, the basket open area averages six times the cross sectional area of the pipe. Pressure drop through strainers is determined by the line size flow rate, specific gravity and the percent of open area in the basket. Individual pressure drop vs. fouling charts are available from the factory. Perforations on the 316 stainless steel screens are 1/8" on 3/16" centers, or as specified.
The BFF-LTE is available in a 75psi version with FRP lid as the BFF-LTE75, which is suitable for moderately corrosive industrial water systems.
